Whenever I'm on my cycling trip, I treat myself to a two-night stay here. Admittedly, the decor is a bit dated and certainly not to everyone's taste. Personally, I still like it. The rooms are well-maintained, clean, and functionally furnished. The service here is legendary. They go out of their way to fulfill every guest's request, and often they succeed. The surrounding area is beautiful for hiking and cycling, but also offers a chance to experience a journey through history, from mining and forestry to water management and even charcoal production. The owner's homemade cakes and tarts deserve special mention. It's unbelievable what a commotion fills this little café when the cakes are served. A true paradise for cake lovers. The best thing to do is go and see for yourself; I'm sure it's worth it.

We stopped there during a bike tour. Lunch (herring) was delicious and beautifully presented. The cake and cappuccino were also highly recommended. The service (attendance/friendliness) was remarkably authentic and good. We highly recommend this place and would gladly return anytime.

We had the pleasure of spending a few unforgettable days at this lovingly run hotel as part of our family reunion – and we were thrilled! The entire team was warm, friendly, and attentive from the very beginning. It's immediately clear that they put their heart and soul into their work. The atmosphere was welcoming and inviting, so we all – from grandmother to grandchildren – felt completely at ease. A particular highlight was the food: simply superb! Whether breakfast or dinner, and especially the afternoon selection of cakes and pastries – all homemade, by the way – everything was fresh, lovingly prepared, and of outstanding quality. Even special requests were handled flexibly and with a smile. The surroundings are, of course, breathtaking – nestled in the heart of the Harz Mountains, with countless opportunities for excursions and walks together. A huge thank you to the entire team – you made our family reunion truly special! We would love to come back again.

We stopped in spontaneously after a short hike. A fantastic selection of cakes and pastries, paired with very friendly and attentive service. Prices were reasonable.

The cakes there are really good, and you get a decent-sized piece for the price. I can't comment on the rooms as I didn't stay there.

A very lovingly run guesthouse and café. We spent three nights there and were very pleased. The apartment with a balcony was lovingly furnished, and we barely noticed the activity downstairs. The staff was also very child-friendly. The breakfast was varied and delicious. We also arranged a funeral service in the café, and we were very pleased with that, too. The value for money is also very good, and the cakes on offer are legendary!
